Delhi Nursery Admissions 2023 Update: On January 20, the Directorate of Education (DoE) Delhi is scheduled to release the initial merit list for admission to Delhi nurseries in 2023. The notice board and the official website of the participating schools will release the Delhi Nursery admission merit list.
Between January 21 and January 30, parents can ask questions about the admission process and receive further details about their children who are on the initial list. On February 6, the second merit list of the chosen students will be made public. From February 8 to February 14, the second list consultation process will take place. On March 17, the admissions process for nursery classrooms for the school year 2023–24 will be completed.
Between December 1 and December 23, 2022, registration for entry-level classes in Delhi schools was open. As of March 31, 2023, four years old will be the minimum age requirement for children to enroll in the nursery class, according to the official announcement.
While five years is the minimum age requirement for the KG class (pre-primary). Six years is the maximum age for enrollment to class 1.
For the academic year 2023–2024, admissions will be held for 1.25 lakh seats in more than 1800 private institutions. The Directorate of Education set the registration fee at Rs. 25 at the time of registration. It is significant to mention that children from low-income households, members of underrepresented groups, and children with impairments are allotted 25% of the seats.
Specific requirements for admission have been established by the Delhi government's Directorate of Education. The merit list, which is based on the parents' qualifications, their occupation (work or business), and their socioeconomic level, decides the selection procedure.
Additionally, if the child is a sibling of a current student and lives far from the school, the school will allot seats accordingly. The overall score will decide the rank of the merit list. Private schools are free to choose their own criteria for the selection process, but they must get the Supreme Court's or the High Court's approval. Any criterion that is discriminatory in character is prohibited in schools.
