The third day of the virtually held FAI Annual seminar was held on 3rd December 2021. The first session was chaired by Nirleep Singh Rai the Chairman & Managing Director of National Fertilizers Limited based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The main topic that was focused on in this session was “Sustainable Fertiliser Production”.
This session hosted speakers like Paolo Brunengo Director of Ammonia & Syngas Technology KBR based in London, U.K. and Ranjit Singh Chugh, the Chief Operating Officer Paradeep, Phosphates Limited based in Paradeep, Odisha who spoke extensively on the Technical aspects of Revamping old Ammonia Plants and how this renovation had actually helped them to become more productive in their use of energy resources.
Paolo Brunengo and Akhil Nahar’s speech on Integration being the Key to Green Ammonia gave a holistic view on things such as how the use of renewable to produce Green Ammonia could be made more viable in the fertiliser industry.
While Jyoti Patel, the Deputy General Manager at Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited, Thal, Maharashtra spoke on how theenergy efficiency measures that they had applied at RCF Thal had paid off in the last year.
Sergio Panza, the Ammonia Technology Manager of Casale SA, Lugano, Switzerland spoke on Casale’s Experiences in Revamping Technologies in Ammonia Plants to Improve Sustainability by Reducing the CO2 Emissions. He specifically spoke on how Cassale had managed to revamp a 40-year-old plant and made it perform better than most state of the art ammonia plants.
He was followed by Matteo Fumagalli his colleague from Cassale who along with Swapnil Joshi the Manager (Production) of Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited, Trombay, Maharashtra spoke on Revamping of Ammonia-Stripping Urea Plant at Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd., Trombay.
Lastly, Ranjit Singh Chugh the Chief Operating Officer of Paradeep Phosphates Limited, Paradeep, Odisha went on to speak on Improving Productivity of Acid and Complex Fertilizer Plants at PPL.
