Farmers first gathered at the Shaheed Smarak to hold a meeting before staging a march. They later marched toward the Civil Lines. Following the conclusion of their march, the protesting farmers presented their demands to the Governor.

Farmer leader Rajaram Meel highlighted the long war fought by farmers against the three farm laws, mentioning the historic back out of the centre in regaining control of the three farm laws.

"Following that, the government promised in writing on December 9, 2021, an MSP guarantee and the return of the electricity law. However, the promises have yet to be fulfilled. Farmers have been completely betrayed. The 'next phase of the Farmer Protests' begins today," he stated.

Comrade Amra Ram, another farmer leader, also chastised the government for making false promises. "The farmers have been taken advantage of. Given all of this, the SKM has decided to gherao the Raj Bhavan," Amra Ram said. He also stated that the farmers had already made their demands known to the governors. They will also distribute it to all MLAs and MPs. He shed light on the protest's phased start from the capitals of all states, which will restart the protest across the country.

It is worth noting that farmer unions held protests and marches across the country on Saturday to commemorate the 2020-21 farmers' strike.

On the second anniversary of the SKM-led farmers' struggle, SKM announced a large-scale protest on November 17 and submitted a memorandum to President Droupadi Murmu through the respective Governors on November 26.
