The 80 year old social activist Anna Hazare is still on the zeal to fulfill government’s dream of enhancing farmer’s income in his own way. Hats off to this man who has declared to go on a hunger strike on birth anniversary of the Father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi i.e. 2 October 2018. Hazare will sit on hunger strike for issues like appointment of Lokpal and welfare measures by agrarian sectors.
Hazare will also ask for implementation of the recommendations of 'Swaminathan Commission' to reduce the plight of farmers, who have been facing serious economic crisis since past few years. The government so far has not acted upon these demands despite constant appeals. Another issue that would be raised during the hunger strike is the monthly pension of Rs 5000 to the farmers.
Maharashtra chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has reacted to the declaration and acted as emissary of the centre and has said that NDA government has taken positive decisions in this regard.
The protest will start from Hazare's own native village, Ralegan Siddhi where he will be on hunger strike. He has warned the government to go on strike again after 3 months if his demands are not met.
