On the occasion of the 10th International Yoga Day, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, participated in a collective yoga session held at the Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium (NASC Complex), Pusa Campus, New Delhi. The event was attended by Ministers of State for Agriculture, Ramnath Thakur and Bhagirath Chaudhary, along with senior officials including Secretary Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Manoj Ahuja, and Director General of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Dr. Himanshu Pathak.

During his address, Chouhan emphasized that yoga embodies both an art and science aimed at leading a joyful, healthy, and fulfilling life. He acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in promoting yoga globally, culminating in the establishment of International Yoga Day on June 21st.

Highlighting the contributions of Indian saints and sages in propagating yoga worldwide, the Minister urged citizens to embrace yoga as a daily practice for physical well-being, mental peace, and spiritual connectivity. Stressing the importance of a sound mind and body for effective living, he underscored the need for individuals to prioritize health and mental equilibrium.

Chouhan also called upon the scientific community to integrate yoga into daily routines beyond the designated International Yoga Day. He referenced the foundational principles of yoga, particularly Yam and Niyam, advocating disciplined living and balanced diet choices based on ancient Ayurvedic wisdom.

The Minister reaffirmed yoga’s integral role in fostering holistic health and encouraged all citizens to incorporate its teachings into their daily lives for enhanced well-being and vitality.
