Reliance Jio has announced the rollout of 5G services in 4 cities beginning on October 5—that is, on Dussehra. Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Varanasi are among these cities. The telecom provider also announced the Jio 5G Welcome Offer, under which consumers will receive limitless 5G data at speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second.
Since Jio is currently conducting beta tests for its 5G services, not everyone will be able to use the Jio 5G network. Now, there is a chance that you may be able to take advantage of the Jio 5G Welcome Offer if you live in one of these 4 cities and own a 5G smartphone. Since the company hasn't yet disclosed any 5G plans, it's possible that Jio customers who have 5G phones would be able to take advantage of the Welcome Offer's free 5G service.
Recall that the business announced the Welcome Offer when it first started offering 4G services in 2017, allowing users to use the service for free until the formal plans were revealed. Jio is probably going to use the same approach this time as well.
"Dussehra symbolizes the triumph over hurdles caused by legacy technologies such as 2G, with knowledge and wisdom that Jio True 5G will actually enable," the company said while explaining why it chose a festival to launch its 5G services. Reliance In addition to preparing to provide fierce competition to its rivals, Jio is preparing to entice over 5 million Indian businesses with its 5G services.
How to avail of the Jio True 5G services?
The telco will only be able to offer its 5G services to its consumers via invitation through the "Jio Welcome Offer" at this stage. Without the need to switch from their current Jio SIM or 5G device, invited users will automatically receive an upgrade to 5G service.
Users who sign up for Jio's beta trial will have access to 5G services with limitless bandwidth and speed of up to 1 Gbps. Till the network coverage of a city is complete to offer coverage to every consumer, Jio users will continue to take advantage of 5G services under beta testing.
