According to BKS's organizing secretary, around two lakh farmers from all over the nation are anticipated to attend the march. He claimed that despite the government's minimum support price offering farmers up to 50% remunerative rates, farmers still live in poverty today.

The main reason for this is that the price policy of agricultural products is not advantageous, which means that the MSP is not compatible, adding that working capital, interest on it, rental fees for agricultural equipment, and the wage of skilled management are not included in the MSP, he added.

Bhartiya Kisan Sangh also highlighted that only 10-11% of total paddy and wheat crop production is procured. And also asked the government about how will such policies help the country's farmers become self-sufficient and prosperous? It also claimed that Bharatiya Kisan Sangh's main objective has been to provide farmers with remunerative prices based on cost.

The Union demands that the beneficial price should be determined on the basis of cost, agricultural inputs should be exempted from GST, Kisan Samman Nidhi should be increased, and it should be ensured that every farmer receives it, BKS stated.

Also, the Central Government should immediately withdraw permission for all types of genetically modified products and end the financial penalty imposed on farmers for burning crop residue, it said.

Bhartiya Kisan Sangh's Kashi Prant unit will also conduct a public awareness campaign in villages across all districts from December 1 to 10.

Prior to this, farmers went to gherao the state governor and hold a 'Mahapanchayat' in Lucknow on November 26 to press for their demands, which include the passage of a minimum support price (MSP) guarantee law.

Farmers from across Uttar Pradesh arrived in Lucknow on tractors on November 26 to geharo the governor and submitted a memorandum to her, as well as held a Mazdoor-Kisan Mahapanchayat at the Eco Garden to press for their demands. Approximately 1 lakh farmers took part in the Mahapanchayat.

The minimum support price, or MSP, is the price at which the government purchases farmers' food grains. It serves as a safety net in the event of a sharp or significant drop in farm prices. It is essentially a government intervention designed to protect agricultural products from unexpected price drops.
