Ministry of FAHD Celebrates ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Program at Ettaiyapuram in Tamil Nadu

On August 12, 2022, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Government of India, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu State Government, celebrated the Har Ghar Tiranga Program in Ettaiyapuram, Thoothukodi, Tamil Nadu.

From the 11th to the 15th of August, 2022, the Government of India will commemorate the Har Ghar Tiranga Program. The Government of India, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, celebrates the event at 400 iconic sites across the country during Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav year.

In the august presence of various dignitaries, Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Government of India, graced the event as Chief Guest.

FAHD, Minister of State, hoisted the National Flag at the Mahakavi Bharatiyar Memorial in Ettaiyapuram, Thoothukodi, Tamil Nadu, and congratulated Martyrs/Freedom Fighters' families.

"I paid my tributes to our unsung heroes who sacrificed their lives during India's struggle for independence," the Minister said. During the event, I had the honour of interacting with family members of freedom fighters."

In Ettaiyapuram, his birthplace, he also paid floral tributes to Mahakavi Bharathiyar, the great poet who sowed a thirst for independence among countrymen through his writing. The Minister also encouraged people to take part in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign.

The Tamil Nadu government enthusiastically provided all administrative and logistical support to ensure the event's success.

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it to commemorate India's 75th year of independence. The initiative's goal is to instil patriotism in the hearts of the people and raise awareness about the Indian National Flag.
