The monsoon, which entered Kerala, has been gradually making its way across the country. The good news is that heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, and Sikkim over the next 7 days.

Particularly heavy rainfall is anticipated in West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya during the next 5 days, with extremely heavy rain predicted in isolated areas of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from June 13th to 16th.

Scattered Rainfall Expected Across Central and Southern States:

While the North-Eastern and Eastern states brace for heavy downpours, scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected in West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha over the next 5 days.

Similar conditions are forecast for Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh, along with wind speeds reaching 40-60 kmph.

Rainfall with strong winds is also predicted in Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep over the next 2 days.

Monsoon Likely to Advance Further:

The IMD reports favorable conditions for the monsoon's advancement into some parts of Telangana and Chhattisgarh within the next 24 hours. This advancement promises monsoon rains in many states, offering respite from the intense heat.

The forecast indicates a widespread monsoon presence across the country in the coming days, bringing much-needed relief from the scorching temperatures but also sending an alert to be ready for heavy rains.
