The French automaker Renault has recently revealed the Kiger subcompact SUV in India. Ahead of its India launch, the SUV has now started arriving at dealerships. Moreover, select dealerships are now accepting bookings for the SUV for a token amount of Rs. 10,000 which is fully refundable. Moreover, the company official has said that official bookings haven't begun yet in India.
The Kiger’s bold design, which is combined with extensive list of comforts, is likely to have a good impression on potential buyers. It will come up with the same engines as its Nissan Magnite cousin - two 1.0-litre petrol units: a naturally-aspirated (NA) & a turbocharged.
Renault SUV will have the following features
-
Underpinned by the CMF-A+ platform, the Renault Kinger will retain 80 per cent of the prototype's design. So, we reckon the new Kiger SUV will come equipped with split head lamps, LED DRLs, grille with two horizontal slats, C-shaped tail lights, However, that dual exhaust system, 19-inch alloy wheels, special paint, etc. will not be offered on the production model.
-
While we haven't caught a glimpse of the cabin, but based on the Renault Kiger spy shots, we reckon the car will borrow some elements from the Renault Triber, including the steering wheel, digital instrument cluster, dual glovebox, etc.
-
Now, on to Renault Kiger features' list: The French automaker will likely equip the upcoming SUV in India with provisions like touchscreen infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel, and automatic climate control among other things.
-
Renault will offer the Kiger 2021 SUV with a choice between two engine options: Entry-level variants will get a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, whereas the top-end model will come powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. For transmission, options will include a five-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic.
-
As mentioned above, Renault Kiger price in India will not be revealed today. But we can tell you that Renault will adopt a very competitive pricing strategy for its upcoming SUV in India, especially considering the cars it will rival upon launch, i.e. Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, etc.
