Rs 24 Crore Returned to State Headquarters; AIKS Protests!

The Farmers of Rohtak needs to wait for compensation against their crop losses as the amount of Rs 24 crore has been returned to state headquarters stating that the amount cannot be distributed to respective farmers till the end of financial years.

The state government announced Rs. 24 crores against the compensation for the farmers who have suffered from crop damage the previous year.

The compensation amount has been sent back to state headquarters saying that the amount cannot be distributed among farmers affected by the end of March 31, 2023. However, the local authorities and administrations are making all the possibilities so that the farmers can get their relief amount.

As per the previous report, farmers have lost nearly 57,110 acres of their rabi crops. As per the complaint lodged at e-kshatipurti portal, 56,751 acres of wheat and 359 acres of mustard has been destroyed in the district.

​In the meantime, the All-India Kisan Sabha members of the district started a protest on Wednesday at Rohtak against the cause. Sumit Dalal who is the General Secretary of All-India Kisan Sabha said that the affected farmers are not receiving their relief amount against their crop loss says media reports.

Chander Mohan, the District Revenue Officer (DRO) agreed that the compensation of Rs. 24 crores released by the state government against the crop losses for Rohtak farmers has been sent back to state headquarters as it could not be distributed at the end of the financial year.

He also stated to the media that the compensation amount cannot be distributed to farmers due to some technical errors. He also added to his statement that all the possible measures and steps are being taken to compensate affected farmers.

Ajay Kumar appointed as the DC of Rohtak informed that a few have claimed crop-loss compensation through their account details and registered mobile numbers on the e-kshatipurti portal. They have used farmers’ land details who have been affected by crop loss. Therefore, he urged farmers to report the fraud at the local SDM office.
