Weather Update: IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall along with Thunderstorms & Lightning in these states from 17th to 20th July

The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall over West Bengal, Northeast India & Sikkim till 19th July and the rainfall intensity will decrease thereafter. Besides, isolated heavy rains might occur over Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, Kerala & Karnataka during the same period.

IMD: These states might witness heavy rains till 19th July

The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall over West Bengal, Northeast India & Sikkim till 19th July and the rainfall intensity will decrease thereafter. Besides, isolated heavy rains might occur over Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, Kerala & Karnataka during the same period.

The weather monitoring agency said, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra would witness rainfall on 18th & 19th July. While the India Meteorological Department predicted for the coastal Karnataka on 16th & 17th July.

IMD: Heavy rainfall in Delhi & other states from 18th-20th July

The India Meteorological Department added that heavy rainfall might take place over Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, North Madhya Pradesh & East Rajasthan from 18th & 20th July. Isolated heavy rainfall likely to occur over Uttar Pradesh on 18th July, the Division of Jammu on 19th July and in Uttarakhand on 18th & 19th July.

IMD: Heavy rainfall in UP & other regions from 17th-20th July

As per the India Meteorological Department the rainfall activity is likely to increase with fairly widespread rainfall over Western Himalayan Region & Uttar Pradesh from 17th to 20th July and isolated heavy rains over Delhi on 18th July.

As per the weather agency, widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rain will continue over the West Coast & rest of the part of West Peninsular India except over Gujarat in the next 6 to 7 days.

These three states to witness thunderstorms & lightning within 24hours

The India Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to severe thunderstorms along with lightning at the isolated places over South Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh & Gujarat in the next 24 hours. IMD has urged the people to stay indoors during the thunderstorm and lightning, as it may hurt or cause injuries.

A civic official said that the city is witnessing downpour since early morning, but its suburbs have reported more rainfall activity. In three hours ending at 7:00 am, The Iceland city of Mumbai recorded 36mm rainfall, whereas its eastern & western suburbs recorded 75mm and 75mm rainfall respectively.
