India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an updated weather forecast, signaling significant rainfall in several regions and the gradual withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon. On October 13, 2024, the IMD reported heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, with heavy rainfall also expected over East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Odisha.

Simultaneously, the onset of the Northeast Monsoon is anticipated, bringing easterly and northeasterly winds across southern India and parts of the Bay of Bengal.
