Session on Deciphering the Silent Language of Plants will be organized by Ashoka University on 26 October 2021 in virtual mode. The entire discussion would be around the silent language of plants. Gitanjali Yadav, Specialist in Genomics and Structural Bioinformatics, National Institute of Plant Genome Research would be the speaker of the session.

Plants have evolved into some of the most advanced forms of communication on the planet. They communicate with each other, as well as with the rest of the biosphere, through complex bouquets of chemicals!

This 'Silent' language of Plants has emerged as one of the most fascinating fields of study in modern science, especially in view of the intricate mechanisms evolved by plants to survive under ever-changing unfavorable, and adverse environmental conditions.

The talk will be about how Dr. Yadav's group is trying to decipher plant communication, by investigating the Phytochemical Landscape; the dynamic mosaic of changing chemistry that surrounds us in space and time.
