Tamil Nadu's Cumbum Grapes Secure Coveted GI Tag
In January 2023, a group of growers applied for the Geographical Indication (GI) label for 'Cumbum Panneer Thratchai', a grape variety from Tamil Nadu, India. Now this variety has got recognition with GI label. Cumbum grapes just received the Geographical Indication (GI) label. This is the famous Cumbum Panneer Thratchai from Tamil Nadu, commonly known as Cumbum grapes. Additionally, Malai Poondu from Kodaikanal, Srivilliputtur Palkova and Palani Panchamirtham have also been awarded the GI tag.

Madhya Pradesh Launches Millet Mission Scheme with 80% Subsidy for All Districts
According to an official, the Madhya Pradesh government resolved on Tuesday to implement the state millet mission project in all districts over a two-year term. According to an official, the decision was made during a meeting of the state cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. "The government has decided to implement the state's millet mission scheme in all districts for a period of two years through the farmers' welfare and agriculture department," the source added.

4 Million Acres Set for Cotton Cultivation with Rs. 8,500/40 KG Support Price & Rs. 1,000 Subsidy in Punjab
The cultivation of cotton is going to be huge this marketing year as 4 million acres of land are being used for cotton cultivation in Punjab with Rs. 8,500/40KG support price and Rs. 1,000 subsidy. A spokesman says to use fertile land and approved BT varieties for a good result. On Monday, an agriculture spokesman said that nearly four million acres are being utilized for cotton cultivation in Punjab. He also directed farmers to sow approved and registered varieties to get better production results.

Healing Herbs 2023: MSME's Vital Role in Medicinal & Aromatic Plant Production Discussed at Workshop
AFC India Limited organized the first edition of "Healing Herbs 2023," an international workshop on the promotion of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants at Silver Oak, India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. The chief guest of the program was Mercy Epao (Joint Secretary of MSME), who spoke on the role of MSMEs in the production of medicinal and aromatic plants.

Punjab Govt to Provide Farmers with 24/7 Electricity During Wheat and Paddy Season
The Punjab government has announced the provision of an uninterrupted power supply to farmers during the paddy season. He also added to his statement that a regular power supply was provided to farmers during wheat season. Fatehgarh Sahib MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai said that the statement government will make sure that farmers make use of the latest technologies for profitable agriculture while addressing a Kisan Mela held at Attewaly village. The district-level Kisan Mela was organized by the Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Department.
