PM-GKAY: 19.76 LMT Foodgrains Distributed To Beneficiaries So Far
Under Phase-V of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY), 19.76 LMT foodgrains has been distributed to beneficiaries so far in States/UTs. In the wake of rising COVID cases, the Department of Food and Public Distribution is continuously monitoring and distributing the foodgrains. Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh & Sikkim have been rated best performing states with regard to distribution of foodgrains under Phase I&II of PM-GKAY.

ICAR-CIFT signs MoU with Kerala Agri University for Transfer of Technology on Conversion of Fish Waste-to-Wealth
The ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Kerala has inked a MoU with the Kerala Agricultural University for Transferring a Novel Technology on Conversion of Fish Waste to Fish Manure. The Institute also organized the Technology Demonstration Programme in collaboration with KVK, Kumrakom, Kottayam under the Kerala Agri University under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan Component.

Vice President, M. Venkaiah Naidu has wished the people on the eve of Makar Sankranti and Pongal. He said, “I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti and Pongal. Dedicated to the Sun God, Makar Sankranti signifies the beginning of the auspicious Uttarayana period. The festival is known by different names in different parts of our country. It is Pongal in Tamil Nadu, Bihu in Assam, Vishu in Kerala, in Punjab and Haryana it is called Lohri and Khichdi festival in Bihar. Reflecting the underlying cultural unity of our country, all these festivals symbolize good harvest, prosperity and gratitude. May Makar Sankranti bring prosperity, peace and harmony in everyone’s life."
