Rajasthan Solar Association Adopts 'Sangod' as Model Solar Village
Rajasthan Energy Minister Heera Lal Nagar is set to inaugurate the "Adoption of Sangod as an ideal model town by Rajasthan Solar Association" initiative, aimed at increasing the uptake of solar energy, particularly through the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli scheme. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to take place in Sangod town, Kota, Rajasthan.

Presented during the pre-session meeting on Sunday, March 10, 2024, India's SOP aligns with the proposed draft guidelines for Food Hygiene Control Measures in Traditional Markets for Food, a crucial agenda item for the session.

FAO and ICAR Releases First Comprehensive National Report on Antimicrobial Resistance in Indian Fisheries and Livestock Sector
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) have jointly published a pioneering report shedding light on the concerning trends of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) within India's fisheries and livestock sectors. The report, encompassing surveillance data from 2019 to 2022, marks a significant milestone in understanding and addressing the challenges posed by AMR in fisheries and livestock sectors.

UNEP and GEF Team Up to Combat Agricultural Pollution Through FARM Program
Agricultural pollution refers to the byproducts of farming activities, which contaminate the environment and surrounding ecosystems, resulting in harm to human well-being and economic interests. The governments of Ecuador, India, Kenya, Laos, Philippines, Uruguay, and Vietnam have united in a groundbreaking effort to tackle the pervasive issue of agricultural pollution. A substantial investment of USD 379 million has been pledged under FARM (Financing Agrochemical Reduction and Management) Program towards mitigating the adverse effects stemming from the extensive use of harmful agri inputs and plastics in farming practices.
