This two-day event promises to be a hub of knowledge and innovation, catering to individuals from diverse backgrounds and age groups.

Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the university, highlighted the crucial role of Pashu Palan Mela in advocating for eco-friendly livestock-rearing practices. Highlighting the judicious use of medicines and the pursuit of quality production, Dr. Singh reiterated the event's theme: "Pashuan Vich Gharelu Upchaar, Ghat Laagat Vadh Paidavaar" (Homemade therapy for animals with less inputs and more profit).

The allure of Pashu Palan Mela extends beyond livestock enthusiasts to encompass a diverse audience comprising children, youth, senior citizens, and women. With captivating displays tailored to different demographics, attendees can expect to be captivated by many of attractions. From cattle, buffalos, and goats to various fish species, including ornamental varieties, there's something for everyone.

Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Extension Education, highlighted the educational aspect of the event. Experts will offer insights into animal care through interactive sessions, practical demonstrations, and on-the-spot consultations. Attendees can avail themselves of free testing services for animal samples and gain awareness about the latest market products and technologies.

Beyond livestock exhibitions, Pashu Palan Mela promises a culinary display, showcasing a diverse array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies. From sweetened and salted lassi to meat patties and sausages, attendees can indulge their taste buds while learning about innovative food processing techniques aimed at promoting healthier dietary choices.

For unemployed youth and marginal farmers aspiring to venture into the livestock sector, the exhibition offers invaluable insights and guidance. Financial institutions, alongside university experts, will provide crucial information on setting up businesses with minimal finances. Additionally, the showcase of food processing machinery aims to inspire promising entrepreneurs and educate general public on modern food production methods.

University publications, containing vital information on livestock diseases, remedial measures, and training courses, will be available to attendees. Farmers can also register for the university's monthly magazine, 'Vigiyanak Pashu Palan,' ensuring continued access to valuable insights and updates.

As the curtains rise on the Pashu Palan Mela, it signals individuals from all walks of life to participate in a celebration of sustainable practices, education, and culinary delights. With a commitment to eco-friendly livestock rearing and empowerment through knowledge, this event stands as an indication of the university's dedication to fostering growth and innovation in the agricultural sector.
