  • Mumbai Rain Live Update: Heavy rain causes water-logging in Several Areas

    On 14th July Wednesday, Mumbai witnessed heavy rainfall in different parts of city. The met department issued an orange alert for Mumbai & neighboring Thane, indicating a heavy to very heavy rainfall at the isolated places & red alert for Raigad, Ratnagiri, Pune, Kolhapur & Satara districts.

  • BASF Venture Capital invests in Indian hydroponics pioneer UrbanKisaan 

    BASF Venture Capital GmbH is investing in the Indian startup UrbanKisaan, which specializes in hydroponic cultivation of various types of vegetables, greens and herbs in tropical urban environments. UrbanKisaan operates several suburban greenhouses and vertical indoor farms in Hyderabad and Bangalore. Vihari Kanukollu, co-founder and CEO at UrbanKisaan said. “Our approach in hydroponics enables us to produce our food cost-effectively and with relatively little effort,”

  • Soil Moisture Deficiency may raise re-sowing of soyabean & maize in some states

    The Soil Moisture Deficiency in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and some parts of Rajasthan raised the prospect of re-sowing some rain-dependent kharif crops, including soybean & maize. The India Meteorological Department on 13th July Tuesday declared that the monsoon rains covered entire country and large parts of the country is still waiting for good spells of the rain to save crops in the field.

  • States lift over 15 lakh tonnes food grains for free distribution

    The states have lifted 15.30 lakh tonnes of food grains for free distribution under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana. Under this scheme additional food grain quota 5kg per person every month is being provided free of cost to 80 crore beneficiaries covered under National Food Security Act.

  • Telangana cabinet to provide 50% reservation to local students in residential schools

    The Chief Minister Office of the state said that Telangana cabinet decided to provide 50% reservation to the local students in residential schools in the local constituencies. The Cabinet instructed the officials concerned to invite the MLA, MPP, ZP Chairman & Municipal Chairman for monthly meeting of residential education institutions without fail.

     

  • Environment Ministry releases Amnesty Scheme for Violator of Environment norms

    The Union Environment Ministry has put together an amnesty scheme for the infrastructural & industrial project in which, People who are involve in the project that violates the environmental norms will have to pay the penalty, according to the memorandum, which also has provision for demolishing the industries that were never eligible for the environmental clearance.

  • India’s agricultural exports will cross $40 billion in FY22 

    According to GR Chintala, chairman, National Bank for Rural and Agriculture Development (NABARD).India’s agricultural exports will cross $40 billion in FY22 driven by strong global demand for sugar, cotton, oilcakes, oilseeds and non-basmati rice and due to better understanding of the global markets by the Indian farming community, He also added “Producers have understood the overseas market requirements and the quality of products that are in demand". 

  • Centre approves continuation of National AYUSH Mission

    The Union Cabinet chaired by PM Modi has approved the continuation of National AYUSH Mission as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2026 with financial implication of Rs. 4607.30 crore (Rs 3,000 crore as Central Share & Rs. 1607.30 crore as State Share).
