    On April 19, petrol and diesel prices stayed unchanged for the 13th day in a row. Prices of petrol and diesel have risen by Rs 10 per liter each via 14 adjustments since the conclusion of a four-and-a-half-month halt in rate review on March 22. On April 6, fuel prices were increased by 80 paise per liter.

  • Farmers Criticize Agriculture Department's Project Report

    Various farmers' organizations in the Kozhikode district have criticized the Agriculture Department's newest project report, which highlights its accomplishments in the fiscal year 2021-22. They claim the report is incomplete since the department has not provided any verifiable information about the amount paid out to farmers as compensation under the much-hyped crop insurance system.

  • Farmers in Karnal are Protesting the Auction of Loan Defaulter Farmers' Agricultural Land

    Hundreds of farmers affiliated with farm organizations staged a protest in Karnal on Monday, enraged by the auction of nearly two acres of agricultural land owned by a loan defaulting farmer. The protesters claimed that the bank had sold the farmer's 17 Kanal and three marlas of agricultural property to recoup a pending loan of 17 lakh rupees.
