• PUSA Krishi Organizes SAMARTH 2024 to Empower Agricultural Incubators

  PUSA Krishi, a prominent institution under the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), recently hosted its flagship event, SAMARTH 2024 – Empowering the Incubators. The workshop is currently taking place from February 20-22, 2024 at the NASC Complex, located within the esteemed Pusa Campus in New Delhi. The inauguration ceremony was graced by key figures from the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, and notable personalities from the agricultural sector. Anjul Tyagi, a Senior Journalist from Krishi Jagran participated in the event and engaged in discussions with prominent personalities.

  The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) has unveiled a pioneering breakthrough in agriculture with the introduction of the world's first pigeon pea speed breeding protocol. This innovation is poised to significantly bolster food security efforts, particularly in the dryland regions of Asia and Africa. Traditionally, the process of breeding pigeon pea, a staple crop in tropical and subtropical regions, has been laborious and time-consuming, with development cycles stretching up to thirteen years.

• APEDA Expands Export Reach with Focus on ODOP and GI Products

  Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has been actively engaged in boosting the export of its Scheduled products to newer destinations, marking a significant step in diversifying India's agricultural export portfolio. With a targeted approach, APEDA is amplifying its efforts towards promoting products under the One District One Product (ODOP) and Geographical Indication (GI) categories while sourcing exports from non-traditional areas/states.
