  • Farmers' Unions Began Their 'Mahapanchayat' In Delhi's Jantar Mantar

    Today the Samyukt Kisan Morcha and several farmer groups will hold a? ‘mahapanchayat’ at Jantar Mantar under the strict security arrangements made by the Delhi Police. Farmer leader, Rakesh Tikait criticized the Centre saying "The government cannot silence the farmers' voice, even with the help of the Delhi Police.
  • Tomar Inaugurates 11th National Seed Congress

    Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurated the 11th National Seed Congress at Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia was virtually present at the inauguration, and the newly constructed auditorium of the university has been named after the late Dattopant Thengadi.

    Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar laid the foundation stone of a regional research center of Maharana Pratap Horticulture University in Kharkari village and Haryana Animal Science Centre at Bahal village in Bhiwani district today. While addressing, CM said the state government has been aggressively promoting organic farming, and farmer who adopt organic farming would get Rs 25,000 for a desi cow. He also said that 2,804 farmers had registered themselves for organic farming.

    US Senator introduced legislation in the Senate to "blacklist China" from investing in, buying, or in any other way acquiring land or businesses involved in agriculture after a Chinese company bought farmland close to an Air Force base in North Dakota. Senator Mike Rounds, a Republican from South Dakota, stated in front of the Senate, "Protecting American farmland is critical to maintaining our national security... I was concerned when a Chinese company recently bought farmland close to an Air Force base in North Dakota because I am a senator on the committee overseeing the armed services.

  • Meenesh Shah to hold the charge as NDDB Chairman for another 6 months

    The Centre has extended the tenure of Meenesh C Shah, executive director of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), for another six months until November 30 to hold the charge of the premier organisation. The post of a full-time Chairman of NDDB has been vacant since December 2020.
