  • 21 lakh J&K families to get free treatment through health scheme: PM

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme for 21 lakh families of Jammu & Kashmir. Under this scheme, all families in J&K will be able to receive free treatment up to Rs five lakh annually. The people of J&K will be able to take advantage of the scheme not only in the state but in the whole country.

    Launching the scheme through a virtual medium, Prime Minister Modi said, "Today the Jammu & Kashmir Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme has been started. It will bring much ease in the lives of the people who will get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. Now the benefit of Ayushman Bharat scheme. Till now about 6 lakh families of the state were getting the benefit of this scheme. But now all the 21 lakh families will get the same benefit."

  • NIO, NPC sign MoU on oil spill management, climate change

    The Goa-based National Institute of Oceanography has signed a memorandum of understanding with New Delhi-based National Productivity Council (NPC) to jointly work in the areas of climate change, environment-related data analytics, combating oil spills, and exploration of renewable energy, a statement said on Saturday.

    "The aim of this MoU is primarily to develop a long-term joint working partnership in the areas of environmental management, climate resilience in coastal zones and communities, oceanographic data analytics, environmental impact studies and modelling to predict environmental impact, besides identifying remedial and mitigation measures and contributing to policy research," the statement said.

    Rajasthan BJP state President Satish Poonia on Friday interacted with the farmers in an open field during a 'Kisaan Chaupal' and said that for the first time Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accomplished the task of giving 1.5 times MSP to the farmers and made best arrangements for them for advanced farming, away from traditional farming techniques.

    "The budget of agriculture in this country during the Congress regime in 2013-14 was Rs 21,000 crore. Today it has gone up to Rs 1.34 lakh crore. The increased budget aims to make the farmers of India prosperous through innovation," he said.
