IMD Weather Update: Snowfall Alert In These States In The Next 2 Days
The effect of western disturbance and cyclonic circulations caused by it is projected to bring fresh snowfall to the Western Himalayan Region in the next days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). However, while the cold wave and cold day conditions have subsided in most areas, they are expected to persist in north Uttar Pradesh for the next 24 hours. From the 2nd through the 4th of February, broad to widespread light/moderate rainfall/snowfall is extremely possible over the Western Himalayan Region. Isolated hailstorms are expected to hit the Jammu division of Himachal Pradesh on the 2nd and 3rd of February, as well as Uttarakhand on the 3rd and 4th of February.

Economic Survey States That Farm Credit Worth Rs 7.36 Lakh Cr Disbursed In H1 of FY’22
According to the Economic Survey, over Rs 7.36 lakh crore in farm loan was disbursed to farmers in the first six months of the fiscal year 2021-22. For the current fiscal year, the government has set a goal of Rs 16.50 lakh crore for farm credit. "Until September 2021, a total of Rs 7,36,589.05 crore has been disbursed against this aim," according to the survey. Banks released Rs 15,75,398 crore in agricultural loan in the fiscal year 2020-21, compared to a goal of Rs 15,00,000 crore.

President Kovind: Farm Production Rose, Agri-Exports Touched record Rs 3 Lakhs Cr in 2020-21 Crop Year
Despite the epidemic, President Ram Nath Kovind stated on Monday that the country's farm output and procurement grew during the 2020-21 crop year, and agricultural exports hit a new high of Rs 3 lakh crore. Kovind said the government is focusing on making the country self-sufficient in edible oils, as well as making special efforts to encourage organic farming, natural farming, and crop diversification, in his address to the joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament at the commencement of the Budget session.

Economic Survey: Centre Needs to Prioritize Crop Diversification, Promote Alternative Fertilizers & Allied Sectors
The agriculture sector has resisted the Covid-19 shock and is expected to increase at 3.9 percent this fiscal year, according to the Economic Survey, which also recommends that the government prioritize crop diversification, linked farm sectors, and alternative fertilizers such as Nano urea. Increased agriculture research and development (R&D) and organic farming, as well as the employment of new technology like as drones, are also recommended in the Economic Survey 2021-22. "The agriculture and allied sector's performance has been resilient to the COVID-19 shock...Development in associated sectors such as livestock, dairying, and fisheries has been the key drivers of overall growth in the sector," according to the Survey.

Sugar Output Seen Higher at 314.5 lt On Increase In Cane Area
The Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA), the leading trade body, stated Monday that sugar output in the current 2021-22 (October-September) season is projected to be higher than original predictions at 314.5 lakh tonnes. ISMA estimated sugar output at roughly 305 lakh tonnes in its initial advance estimates in October.
