IMD Forecasts Intense Rain & Thunderstorms In These Areas In The Next 24 Hours
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted strong precipitation in the Western Himalayan Region over the next 48 hours, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfalls. The North West plains are also expected to get extremely severe rainfall during the next 24 hours, or until January 9th. Following that, the precipitation is expected to decrease. Between the 8th and 12th of January, the central area of India is likely to experience increased thunderstorms. Between the 10th and 13th of January, the same situation will occur in east India. "Isolated heavy rainfall or snowfall highly likely across Himachal Pradesh on January 9 and over Uttarakhand on January 8 and 9," according to the official release.

MK Stalin: Rs 132 Crore Reliefs Sanctioned For Agriculture Damages
M K Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, announced that Rs 132.12 crore has been given from the State Disaster Management Fund to help farmers whose crops have been harmed by recent rains. In response to the dispute over the Governor's message, he stated that the DMK government was always concerned about the welfare of farmers. He stated that numerous sorts of crops were damaged in the three-phase rains that have pounded the state since October 25, 2021, and that the SDMF has released Rs 132.12 crore for crops damaged in over 1.62 lakh hectares. More than 2.65 lakh small and marginal farmers will gain from this, and the money would be deposited straight into their bank accounts within 1-2 days.

Sustainable Farming In Banswara Creates Livelihood Sources
The Chief Minister's Economic Transformation Advisory Council was pleased by a sustainable natural farming system developed in southern Rajasthan's Banswara district, which has provided new livelihood opportunities and food security to indigenous tribal populations. The model is being studied for possible replication in other parts of the state. Earlier this week, a 20-member team from the Council visited Amlipara village in Banswara district to explore the techniques and innovations that have allowed farmers to satisfy their daily food needs by growing fruits and vegetables at a minimal cost. The integrated approach has also reduced the tribal's reliance on the market and enhanced the local population's nutritional state.

Jagannath Temple of Odisha To Remain Closed Till Jan 31
Due to an increase in coronavirus cases in the country, the Odisha Lord Jagannath Temple will be closed to visitors from January 10 to January 31. In addition, from January 10, the Odisha government has decided to close all colleges, universities, and technical education institutes in the state. Similarly, hostels in similar academic institutions will be closed during this time. Scholars, researchers, and students may be allowed to reside in hostels for research and project work or other academic activities if they provide an undertaking, according to the order.
