Green Gram cultivation in Karnataka

Green gram is a popular kharif season crop (pulse) in Karnataka, particularly in the Dharwad district. Dharwad, Hubballi, Kundagol, Navalgund, and Kalaghatagi are the five taluks that make up the Dharwad district.

Among the rabi crops green gram has the potential to sustain food & nutritional security of the small and marginal farmers because of its short duration, fast growth & high nutritive values.
