The Chhattisgarh government announced on Tuesday that small and marginal farmers will be eligible for zero-interest, short-term loans of up to Rs 3 lakh for horticulture, fishery, and cow rearing.

Ravindra Choubey, the minister of agriculture, and Mohammed Akbar, the minister of transport, stated on Tuesday said that the announcement came after the cabinet approved a proposed adjustment to the rules governing interest subsidies for loans from farmers’ cooperatives.

According to Choubey, the allotment of 3.14 acres of land in Sector 19, Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar for the construction of a Krishi Bhawan to accommodate all the related departments of agriculture was also authorized by the Cabinet.

The Ministers gave a press briefing on the decisions made by the cabinet.

Additionally, it was determined to use the resources of other departments to construct paved roads along the irrigation canals' service banks, according to Choubey.

According to the Minister, approval was given to build an 810 MW (DC)/675 MW (AC) solar power plant with the goal of supplying solar energy to the agricultural feeders.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Avam Utthan Maha Abhiyan (PM Kusum) scheme would be used for this. 

Farmers may use both solar and conventional energy thanks to this. He may use conventional electricity to power agricultural pumps if solar energy is not available, Choubey said.

Minister Akbar said that the cabinet has approved using a limited tender process to choose a Central Public Sector Undertaking as the project management consultant for the turnkey building of Government Medical Colleges and Hospitals.

Three medical colleges in Kanker, Mahasamund, and Korba have been approved.

The Public Works Department accepted the selection list's one-year validity term for the hiring of 43 assistant cartographers. 12,489 teaching positions in the divisions of Bastar and Surguja will be filled through recruitment.
