On Friday evening, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the Deo and Subarnarekha irrigation projects in the Mayurbhanj district and laid the groundwork for a number of development projects. The people of Mayurbhanj and Balasore will benefit from both major irrigation projects, according to the Chief Minister's office.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who attended the event, stated, "This initiative for the welfare of tribals has begun to bear fruit." The program's goal is to empower them through education and employment. Today, tribal children are gaining fame throughout the country as a result of their abilities."

"Of the two projects announced today, the Subarnarekha project will provide irrigation services to 17,121 hectares of additional agricultural land in the districts of Mayurbhanj and Baleshwar." 55,000 farmers in both districts will benefit from this. The Chief Minister stated that Rs 685 crores have been invested for this purpose.

According to the Chief Minister, Subarnarekha is a major irrigation project of the state government. "A total of 70 thousand hectares of land have been irrigated as a result of this." "Over 50 thousand hectares of agricultural land have been provided with water so far," he said.

"Similarly, the Deo Irrigation Project will irrigate approximately 10,000 hectares of land in Mayurbhanj, benefiting 2 lakh people from 100 villages." "A dam of 1,280 metres length on the Deo river at Hatibari in Karanjia block has been built for this purpose at a cost of Rs 823 crore," he added.

The Chief Minister emphasized agriculture, education, health, and other development and welfare programmes, saying that all of our programmes have empowered the people and earned their respect.

The Chief Minister stated that the transformation of schools under the 5T initiative has increased children's confidence. He stated that when a child from Mayurbhanj receives a proper education in a village school, not only that child, nor the village, but the entire state of Odisha benefits. The Chief Minister praised Mayurbhanj's art and culture, saying that the city has a distinct identity throughout India. "The Mayurbhanj tribe has a long history," he said.
