Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 8th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana via video conference. Under this scheme, over 55 lakh Karnataka farmers received Rs. 985.61 crore directly in their accounts.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said, “More than 55 lakh farmers received Rs.985.61 crore directly in their bank accounts.”
Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana a financial benefit of Rs. 6000 per year is provided to the eligible farmers, in three equal installments of Rs. 2000.
As per the official statement by the state government, till date, 55.06 lakh farmer families have been benefitted by the scheme. The statement said that from March 2019 to March 2021, these 55.06 lakh farmer families have received a total of Rs. 6,936.98 crore by the Centre.
Additionally, the state government also provides the financial assistance of Rs. 4000 to the farmers, which is given in two installments of Rs. 2000 each. Till date, the state government has provided the financial assistance of Rs. 2,891.70 crore.
The statement by the government also stated that Karnataka has done the highest percentage of Aadhar enabled transactions under the scheme among all the states.
