Under PM KUSUM Yojana, Modi government offers subsidies to buy solar pumps for agriculture purposes. The farmers can get solar pumps of different horse powers (3,5,7.5 and 10 HPs) available in the range of Rs 43000 and Rs 1.15 Lakh. The government will launch the next phase of the scheme within coming few weeks.

Rameshwar Singh, district project officer, renewable energy, said, “The benefit of the scheme is being provided on a first come first basis, the application can be filed online through the saral portal. It is also necessary for the farmers to have family identity cards. They have to select government empanelled agencies and the due amount will be deposited with the application form online or through challan”.

To promote the use of Solar energy, the Central and State Governments are constantly introducing new schemes (Government Schemes). Under the government schemes, solar panels are being provided at cheaper prices for setting up solar plants.

The farmers will get subsidies on new and improved solar-powered pumps. You can take a loan for this from the SME branch of many banks. This scheme will help farmers to generate electricity for their tubewells.
