This New Tomato Variety Will Give 1400 Quintal per Hectare Yield

A new tomato species was developed by the scientists of Chandra Shekhar Azad University for Agriculture and Technology (CSA) to give a major boost to the farmers. This variety of tomato can yield up to 1,400 quintals per hectare and the name of this species of tomato has been given as Namdhari-4266. The major difference between common varieties and Namdhari-4266 is its yielding capacity. Common varieties can yield up to 400 to 600 quintals per hectare yield where as Namdhari-4266 can yield up to 1,200 to 1,400 quintals per hectare.

What are the advantages to plant Namdhari-4266.  

  • Total cost of weeding, sowing, irrigation, hoeing and fertilizing the farming of tomatoes is about Rs 50 thousand per hectare.

  • It does not cause diseases and pests.

  • The tomato is ready in 45 days.

  • This variety can be cultivated easily in the average poly house.

Tomato Farming Preparation 

  • You can plant nursery of this variety in the months of September and October.

  • In between December and February it is ready to be grown. 

  • You can add the mixture of coconut dust to perlite and vermiculite to the soil.

  • Farmers can also irrigate it by drip method because it does not require much water.
