The government would distribute Rythu Bharosa cheques on May 16 and credit crop insurance payments to farmers by June 15, according to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Agricultural equipment, including 3,000 tractors and 402 harvesters, will be available to farmers at 4014 Community Hiring Centres in the first week of June under the farm mechanization scheme.

Similarly, the Chief Minister said during a review meeting with Agriculture Department officials that Matsyakara Bharosa will be distributed on May 11. By performing monthly social audits, he instructed authorities to focus on e-cropping at the village level. He asked officials to establish a Community Hiring Centre at each RBK to support natural farming.

According to Jagan, farmers should be made aware of the use of fertilisers and pesticides by drones. Drones, he added, would play an important role in the future in the use of nano insecticides and nano fertilisers, since they will limit the excess usage of chemicals, which is good for the environment.

The Chief Minister directed authorities to promote millet growing and concentrate on MSP and processing, and establish an action plan for this. Millet products should be given more value. Officials stated that all preparations for Kharif 2022 had been completed. Other authorities in attendance were Agriculture Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, Chief Secretary Dr Sameer Sharma, and others.
