Pollination is a critical process for the survival of our ecosystems. Nearly 90% of the world's wild flowering plant species rely entirely or partially on animal pollination. Bees and other pollinators enable not only the production of an abundance of fruits, nuts, and seeds, but also greater variety and higher quality, contributing to food security and nutrition.

Bees' economic contributions are also priceless. One of India's oldest practices was beekeeping. As a result, India has become one of the world's most important honey markets, resulting in intense competition in terms of innovation and quality. Considering the importance of beekeeping and the goal of the "Sweet Revolution," the need for holistic beekeeping development was felt.

As a result, the Government of India has approved a new Central Sector Scheme called "National Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM)" for the overall promotion and development of scientific beekeeping and the production of quality honey and other beehive products.

In this regard, Krishi Jagran is organizing a webinar on World Bee Day on the "Diversity of Bees and Bee Keeping Systems" on May 20, 2022, at 3 p.m. to learn from various leaders, government officials, and experts from the Bee Keeping Sectors.
