Human body requires rest for at least six to seven hours. It is essential for good health. And some beverages you take during bed time can help you to get more relaxed and peaceful sleep. Such drinks are mentioned below:

Herbal Tea

A cup of herbal tea, specifically Tulsi ( Holy Basil) tea gives a soothing taste and functions to lower cortisol levels. It is why adding a cup of herbal tea in night will help you attain more restorative sleep. Sipping hot tea sets a relaxing feel cues up you mentally and physically while you are off to your bed.

Besides Tulsi tea, valerian, passionflower, and chamomile tea are also herbal teas. Yet the elements in these herbals leads to somewhat sedating and thereby it has a minute difference in good-sleep mechanism.

Ashwagandha

Also known as winter cherry, Ashwagandha is a traditional Indian Ayurvedic medicinal herb, which can ease pain and inflammation, treat insomnia, and boost nutrition, along with other conditions. It is also used to ease stress.

Studies found that the medicinal herb is able to reduce cortisol levels and improve sleep quality. It is why ready-to-drink beverages and tea blends made in Ashwagandha are a good choice to drink for calm sleep. 

Turmeric Latte

Adding turmeric to the coffee drink with steamed milk will benefit the immune system. Turmeric lattes regularly help to reduce chronic inflammation and risk of several serious diseases. Latte made with a plant- based milk such as oat milk, cashew milk or almond and adding a teaspoon of turmeric powder is good for digestion as well.

Tart cherry juice

The elements in the cherries which aids for healthy sleep are tryptophan. It is an amino acid involved in the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin, which intern stimulates good sleep.

Normal Water

A glass of plain water at bedtime helps to sleep well. Water is calorie- free and sugar- free. Yet, it is advisable to drink more water in the daytime, where consuming water in night might lift you to awake to rush into bathroom in-between your sleep hours.

If you are spending your bed hours for works, then drinking caffeine will activates energy and it also promotes alertness. But consuming alcohol, fruit drinks, sports drinks, etc. will worse your bedtime.
