Associate Professor-cum-Senior Scientist, Senior Scientist-cum-Associate Professor, and Associate Professor at BAU

Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour (BAU) is inviting applications from eligible candidates to fill 195 vacancies in various disciplines. These include 08 backlog vacancies and 187 current vacancies for the positions of Associate Professor-cum-Senior Scientist, Senior Scientist-cum-Associate Professor, and Associate Professor on a direct recruitment basis. Position Overview 

Qualifications  and Eligibility

For Disciplines Other Than Engineering:

• Doctoral degree in the relevant subject, including basic sciences, with 8 years of experience as Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist/Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or equivalent in Pay Band-3 (Rs. 15600-39100) with GP/AGP/RGP of Rs. 5400, Rs. 6000, Rs. 7000, or Rs. 8000, and contributions to research/teaching/extension education as evidenced by published work/innovations.

• Or: Doctoral degree in the relevant subject, including basic sciences, with at least 8 years of high-quality post-doctoral research experience, evidenced by a minimum of 6 publications in journals with a NAAS rating of 7.5 or above.

For Engineering Disciplines:

• Doctoral degree in the relevant subject, including basic sciences, with 6 years of experience as Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist/Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or equivalent in Pay Band-3 (Rs. 15600-39100) with GP/AGP/RGP of Rs. 5400, Rs. 6000, Rs. 7000, or Rs. 8000, and contributions to research/teaching/extension education as evidenced by published work/innovations.

• Or: Doctoral degree in the relevant subject, including basic sciences, with at least 6 years of high-quality post-doctoral research experience, evidenced by a minimum of 6 publications in journals with a NAAS rating of 7.5 or above.

Maximum Age Limit

There is no age limit for appointment to the positions of Associate Professor-cum-Senior Scientist/Senior Scientist-cum-Associate Professor/Associate Professor.

Reservation Guidelines

Reservation applies to original residents of Bihar State only, with horizontal reservations for Divyang and grandchildren of freedom fighters as per Bihar government guidelines.

Monthly Remuneration 

Academic / Research Pay Level-13A (Rs. 1,31,400-2,17,100)

Selection Procedure

• Candidates will be assessed based on academic qualifications (30 marks), professional experience, awards, discoveries, innovations, teaching/research/extension contributions, publications, and institute building/service functions.

• The interview carries 25 marks. In case of ties, preference goes to higher educational qualification marks, elder age, and alphabetical order in Devnagiri Script.

The hard copy of the application, along with self-attested copies of supporting documents, must reach the Officer-In-Charge (Recruitment), Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour-813210, Bhagalpur, Bihar (India) by registered/speed post only, no later than 31st August 2024, 06:00 PM. 

• Candidates currently employed should apply through proper channels and provide NOC-cum-Vigilance Clearance Certificate from their employer, or submit it at the time of interview.

• The application fee is Rs. 1000 for UR/BC/EBC/EWS candidates, and Rs. 250 for Divyang, female candidates, and SC/ST applicants from Bihar State only.
