The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is inviting candidates for internships under the Internship Scheme 2021, starting from April, with a duration of 3 months, which may be extended to a maximum period of 6 months. Here are the details:

Qualifications and Eligibility

Students pursuing a full-time Graduate/Post Graduate Degree or higher degree from a recognized institute within India or abroad are eligible for internship at FSSAI, provided they are enrolled in any of the following disciplines:

  • Post Graduate Degree/B.Tech/BE from a recognized University or Institution in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Food Science & Technology, Food & Nutrition, Edible Oil Technology, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, Agricultural Sciences, Horticultural Sciences, Industrial Microbiology, Toxicology, Public Health, Life Science, Biotechnology, Fruit & Vegetable Technology, or Food Safety & Quality Assurance.

  • Business Administration & Management, including policy regulation and related fields - Only at FSSAI (HQ).

  • PG Diploma/Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, and Public Relations.

  • B.E. / B. Tech (Only 3rd and 4th Year students, not for 2nd or 1st Year) in Computer Science/Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related stream.

  • Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Public Policy or Public Administration - Only for FSSAI (HQ).

  • Bachelor/Master of Law - Only for FSSAI (HQ).

Note:

  • Students who have completed the above mentioned courses are not required to apply.

  • Multiple applications will not be entertained.

  • All candidates must ensure that the internship place they are opting for has the relevant subject/topic available. For instance, in the case of FSSAI lab, only technically qualified candidates will be eligible.

Tenure

Internship opportunities will be available throughout the year at various points in time, with durations of up to 3 months, extendable to a maximum of 6 months. Applications for internships lasting less than 2 months will not be considered.

Monthly Stipend

Rs. 10,000/-

Upon completing the internship, interns will receive a certificate from the Human Resource Division, FSSAI (HQ) after the final report/presentation is reviewed and recommended by the Project Evaluation Committee.

Application and Selection Procedure

  • Interested and eligible students must apply online in the specified format within the timelines provided by FSSAI. Applicants who have previously applied for internships, need to apply afresh. 

  • Shortlisted candidates may be asked to submit a brief write-up/presentation for final selection.

  • The final list of selected candidates, along with their date of joining and internship tenure, will be published on the FSSAI website by the respective office where they have chosen to intern.
