The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (Divyangjan), Dehradun (formerly known as the National Institute for the Visually Handicapped) is a premier organization overseen by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment's Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan). The Institute is a training center for the blind located on the Mussoorie-Dehradun Highway. It also manufactures Braille literature, as well as aids and appliances for the visually impaired. It also conducts research and development to ensure the development of disability-inclusive policies, programmes, and practices. The Management and Advisory Bodies govern the Institute.
