Aahwahan Foundation Launches ‘Go Green Revolution’ in Bengaluru

Aahwahan Foundation is organising a week-long tree plantation drive campaign in the city of Bengaluru- ‘Go Green Revolution’ from 1 to 6 November where the foundation is planting 10,000 tree saplings. 

It was inaugurated by Ravi Kumar, BJP State President and Basvaraj, ex-corporator and the Foundation joined hands with Jain Yuva Sangathan for this drive. 

Plantation drive will cover areas like Kediranahalli Cross to Vega City Mall, Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru; Karnataka. More than 200 people are participating in the drive.   

“We are happy to see the support of people to come forward and help us in this drive which is also aimed at increasing awareness about the drive. We hope in the coming time more and more people will join us and take this initiative forward”, said Braja Kishore Pradhan, founder of Aahwahan Foundation. 

The foundation is also cautiously using this drive to plant a lot of medicinal plants like Neem, Honge, Sampige, Asoka, Gulmohar, Badami, Raintree, and Cherry etc. in areas like public parks, both sides of the footpath, divider on roads and other free spaces with BBMP’s (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) permission.  

The idea behind using specific varieties of plants is aimed at reducing or keeping in checking the city pollution. The organisation started this drive in the year 2019 intending to convert the country green and raise awareness about the same. They aim to plant 10 million trees by the year 2025 across the country.
