A nano-fertilizer is a product that provides nutrients to plants in one of three ways. The nutrient can be encapsulated within nanomaterials like nanotubes or nano-porous materials, coated with a thin protective polymer film, or delivered as nanoscale particles or emulsions.

The only Nano fertilizer approved by the Government of India and listed in the Fertilizer Control Order is IFFCO Nano Urea (FCO). IFFCO invented and patented it. One bottle of Nano Urea can effectively replace at least one bag of Urea.

"IFFCO will manufacture Nano DAP fertiliser which is a game changer for Indian agriculture and economy. According to IFFCO Chief Dr US Awasthi, it will cost between Rs 600 and 700, which is significantly less than the conventional DAP.

"It's another giant step towards Attmanirbhar Bharat and Attmanirbhar Krishi. It's also a step forward for Sahkar Se Samriddhi," he said on Twitter.

Nano DAP LIQUID is a novel foliar formulation that provides crops with nano Nitrogen (8.0%) and Phosphorus (16.0%).

It can be used on all crops as a Seed Primer, Growth Enhancer, Productivity Booster, and Quality Booster. Under ideal conditions, the efficiency of Nano DAP use is greater than 90%.

The use of nano DAP reduces the need for conventional DAP and other phosphatic fertilizers, lowering farmers' input costs as well as pollution of the soil, air, and water.

Its advantages include increased seed germination and root development, as well as lower fertilizer costs and increased farmer income.
