Union Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, marked World Youth Skills’ Day by unveiling "AI for India 2.0," an innovative and free online training program focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This online program is developed in collaboration with Skill India & GUVI and accredited by NCVET (National Council for Vocational Education and Training) and IIT Madras, and aims to equip young people with cutting-edge skills.

In his address, Pradhan emphasized the importance of breaking down language barriers in technology education. He stressed that technology should not be confined to a specific language, and urged for the expansion of technology courses in multiple Indian languages. This step, he believes, will help future-proof India's youth, particularly those residing in rural areas, by providing them with equal access to advanced technical knowledge.

Highlighting India's proficiency in technology, the minister commended the successful adoption of digital payments in the country. He praised GUVI for taking the initiative to educate the underprivileged population at the grassroots level, empowering them with expertise in state-of-the-art technologies.

Pradhan lauded the efforts of GUVI, a tech platform incubated by IIT Madras, for creating this program in 9 Indian languages. By offering AI training in vernacular languages, GUVI aims to make AI learning accessible to every corner of the nation.

The joint venture of Skill India and GUVI is expected to play a crucial role in shaping India's future workforce by upskilling and reskilling youth, enabling them to compete effectively in the rapidly evolving technological landscape. The accreditation by NCVET and IIT Madras adds credibility to the program, assuring participants of its high-quality content and relevance.
