Anganwadi Workers Shine in 'Grain Value-Added Products' Training and Cooking Competition at Sangaria KVK

A two-day training on "Value Added Products of Grain" at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, KV, Sangaria, involved 42 Anganwadi workers and featured informative sessions and a cooking competition with Dhaban Anganwadi Center's women's group securing first place.

A two-day extension worker training on the topic “Value Added Products of Grain” was conducted from November 3 to 4, 2023 in the auditorium of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, KV, Sangaria.

Due to this, 42 Anganwadi workers and associates participated in the area. Dr Anup Kumar, senior scientist at the centre explained the activities of the centre in detail.

Program in-charge Dr Santosh Jhajharia gave theoretical information about food groups, functions, balanced diet for different stages, proposed base quantities and nutritional value of grains in the diet and experimental information about various enhanced products prepared from grains.

A virtual telecast of the “World Food India” program was also done in the programme, in which the address was given by the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi.

During the training, a competition of dishes prepared from Indian grains was also organized, in which the women's group of Dhaban Anganwadi Centre (Paramjit Kaur, Veerpal Kaur and Harpreet Kaur) got first place, the women's group of Ratanpura Anganwadi Centre (Sharda, Hanskaur and Swarn Kaur) got second place and Nathwana Anganwadi center (Shakuntala and Asha) got third place.
