Following nearly 11 days of holidays in May, banks in India will be closed for another eight days in the month of June, according to a list released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Two of these holidays are listed under the Holidays Negotiable Instruments Act, while the remaining six days fall under the weekend, including Sundays, and the second and fourth Saturdays.
Even though banks may be closed on certain days next month, online banking services will be available on these days as usual.
If you need to visit the branch for some urgent work, it is recommended that you must check with the branch to see if the banks are open on the below-mentioned dates to avoid any inconvenience.
On the occasion of Maharana Pratap Jayanti, all banks' branches in Shillong, including public, private, foreign, cooperative, and regional banks, will be closed on June 2 (Thursday).
Banks in Aizawl, Bhubaneshwar, Jammu, and Srinagar will be closed on June 15 (Wednesday) to commemorate YMA Day/Guru Hargobind Ji's Birthday/Raja Sankranti.
Banks will be closed on June 5, 11, 12, 19, 25, and 26 due to second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays, in addition to the two days mentioned above.
