A Bengaluru startup (Mycelium) has stepped forward to protect natural habitats and the environment. The firm buys land near forests to protect the environment. The startup is founded by Nishanth Prasannan and naturalist Abhishek Jain. The firm is buying private land near forests for conservation.
Visions Behind Buying Private Land Adjacent to Forests
Entrepreneur Nishant Prasannan and naturalist Abhishek Jain founded a startup named Mycellium that is focusing on buying lands adjacent to forests with a motive to protect the environment instead of building flats and houses.
The firm is also focused on creating collectives that bind individuals who are interested to fund to prevent forests. In response, the individuals of the collective will be offered equity in Mycellium.
Roadmap to the business
In order to sustain the business, the firm will organize treks, and forest experiences, and build interpretation centres. Additionally, the firm will also focus on organic produce near the forest area and create a market for them.
As per the report, the firm aims to conserve 10,000 acres of land by the year 2035. It also invites locals to be roped in as a helping hand.
