Many lucrative strategies are being developed by the government as well as state governments to encourage the use of electric vehicles (EVs). This comprises both subsidies and incentives. Haryana is the most recent state to approve the Electric Vehicle (EV) policy.

Under the policy, the makers or manufacturers of electric vehicles would be eligible to get 50% of their SGST for the first ten years. Additionally, Manufacturers will be able to take advantage of incentives worth up to Rs. 1 crore for building up interstate electric car disposal facilities.

Further, under this Policy, people of Haryana are eligible for discounts ranging from 15% to 40% on electric vehicles. Customers will receive a maximum discount of up to Rs. 6 lakhs on this.

Customers can receive a 15% discount up to Rs. 10 lakhs on electric vehicles costing between Rs. 40 lakh and Rs. 70 lakhs. This policy extends coverage to hybrid vehicles. On hybrid vehicles priced under Rs. 40 lakhs, a flat 15 percent discount up to Rs. 3 lakh is being provided.

Discount of up to ₹3 lakh

The price of the Honda City Hybrid model is flat-discounted by up to 3 lakh rupees under the new electric car policy. It is now priced at 19.53 lakh, but a 15 percent discount will result in a price reduction of up to 2.9 lakh.

Only the petrol version of this car's 1.5-litre 4-cylinder Atkinson Cycle engine, which produces 98 PS and 127 Nm of torque, has been used by the manufacturer. Its power and torque are the highest after the electric motor at 126PS and 253Nm, respectively.

Mileage of 26.5 km/litre

The vehicle has three driving modes: engine, electric vehicle, and hybrid. This implies that you may operate this vehicle in electric-only, electric-and-gasoline (hybrid), or gasoline-only modes. According to the manufacturer, this vehicle has a mileage of up to 26.5 km/l. The manufacturer has loaded it with a single-pan sunroof, ambient lighting, a smartwatch integration, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with linked car technology that supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and WebLink.

Subsidy of Rs 48,000 per year for employees

For a period of ten years, the SGST refund under this new EV policy will be equal to 50% of the relevant net SGST. All businesses that produce electric vehicles, electric vehicle parts, EV batteries, and charging infrastructure will be eligible for the incentives. Additionally, companies installing battery disposal facilities would receive 15% of the fixed capital expenditure up to Rs. 1 crore.
