Ag retailers provide products and services to farmers and ranchers. Seed, fertilizers, crop protection goods, feed, equipment, and technology are examples of these products.
To strengthen the cooperative movement in the country, PACS would be given preference in the allocation of new petrol/diesel dealerships. PACS will also be able to obtain LPG distribution.
According to an official release, these decisions were made during a meeting between Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri here.
Among other rulings, sugar cooperative mills will be given first priority in selling ethanol under the ethanol blending scheme, and PACS will be allowed to run their own retail stores.
"The petroleum ministry will also change the rules to make PACS eligible for LPG distributorship, and PACS will be placed under Combined Category 2 (CC 2) category with freedom fighters and sports quota in allotment of new petrol/diesel dealerships," according to the announcement.
PACS is a grassroots level co-operative organisation that assists farmers with financing for various agricultural and farming activities by providing agricultural, short-term, and medium-term loan requirements to its members.
