‘Heavy Rain Warning’ in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat; Flood Creates Havoc in Bihar, Parts of UP

The weather department has issued ‘Heavy to very heavy rainfall’ alert in Madhya Pradesh, southeast Rajasthan, and North Gujarat region during the next 24 hours. As per the report of IMD (Indian Meteorological Department), “the Depression over northern parts of Gujarat region & adjoining southeast Rajasthan moved east-northeastwards with a speed of 24 kmph during past 06 hours and lay centered at 0530 hrs IST of today, the 01st October. Under the influence of the above system fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy very likely over West Madhya Pradesh and southeast Rajasthan and isolated heavy rain over North Gujarat region during next 24 hours.” 

On the other hand, rainfall intensity and distribution very likely to reduce significantly over Gujarat region and southeast Rajasthan from tomorrow, the weather department reported.  

Bihar and parts of Uttar Pradesh have been reeling under floods since the past few days due to incessant monsoon rain which is creating total havoc in the state. People are suffering the most in the city side due to the lack of proper drainage system. Farmers in the flood affected area worried the most as it has mostly destroyed Kharif crops during its harvesting time.

Most places over Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, and Northeastern region witnessed heavy rainfall along with thunderstorm. 

As per the report, a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Saurashtra & Kutch, East Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Kerala & Mahe lashed with heavy rainfall. 

Maximum temperatures were reported above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands while minimum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir and at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh.
