On February 3, 2025, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched a simplified registration form for farmers to enroll in natural farming during a meeting with MLAs. This initiative aims to make it easier for farmers to adopt natural farming practices, with the form available both online and offline.

The form will collect essential information, including details about the land, crops, animal breeds, and any natural farming training the farmer may have attended. The forms will be distributed across all Panchayats in the state, with the goal of further promoting natural farming in the state during the 2025-26 farming season.

Chief Minister also highlighted the state's recent success in procuring 398.976 metric tons (MT) of naturally grown maize from 1,508 farmers at an impressive Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 30 per kg, which is the highest MSP in the country. He also assured that a similar procurement process will be followed for naturally produced wheat, with an MSP of Rs 40 per kg in the upcoming season.

Additionally, one and five-kilogram packets of maize flour are now available under the 'Him Bhog' brand. As of February 1, 2025, 38.225 MT of maize flour has been sold through 1,054 Fair Price Shops, while 73.52 MT has been distributed through wholesale units of the HP State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd.

Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Chander Kumar stated that the ATMA staff will verify the forms submitted by farmers, with the data linked to the CETARA-NF portal of PK3Y.

Natural Farming is a chemical-free method based on traditional Indian practices. It uses local resources and livestock, avoiding synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, while relying on natural alternatives like cow dung, cow urine, and preparations like Bijamrit and Jivamrit for soil and plant health.

Senior officials, including Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Ayush Minister Yadvender Goma, and Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, attended the event.
