IMD has forecasted rainfall in the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala on April 9th. IMD has expected heatwave conditions in various central, northern, eastern, and western regions of India during the course of this week.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall is forecasted till April 12 in the states of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Kerala, and northeastern states. Meanwhile, the meteorological department has alerted that northwestern India, which would include the states of Delhi-Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Vidarbha, will witness severe heatwave conditions over the next five days.
Rainfall and Thunderstorm In These Regions
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is expected over the northern parts of India until the 12th of April. As per the weather forecasting agency, heavy rain is expected in the suburbs of the western Himalayan regions from 8th to 10th April, in Arunachal Pradesh from 9th to 10th April, and over the northeastern states of Meghalaya and Assam from 9th t0 12th April.
IMD has also anticipated rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Kerala as of today, 9th April. Rain and thunderstorms are also plausible in isolated regions of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Konkan until the 10th of April. On April 9, the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh will also witness lightning, thunderstorms, and light rainfall.
Heatwave Conditions In The Following Regions
Eastern parts of the Rajasthan, alongside Punjab and southern parts of Delhi and Haryana, will face extreme heatwave situations within the next five days. Western regions of Uttar Pradesh are also likely to witness severe heatwave conditions over the next three days.
Saturday onwards similar conditions will take precedence over Gujarat. Starting from the 9th till the 12th of April, the states of Bihar and Jharkhand will have to endure heatwave conditions.
