The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released its latest forecast, indicating a mixed weather conditions across different regions of the country in the coming days.

In East India and South Peninsular India, heatwave conditions are expected to persist, although the IMD suggests a potential reduction in their severity. Conversely, the Northeast region is bracing for heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms until May 7th.

Analyzing the meteorological dynamics, the IMD has identified cyclonic circulation patterns over Assam and northeast Bihar, extending to North Odisha. These patterns, coupled with strong southwesterly winds originating from the Bay of Bengal, are anticipated to influence weather conditions in Northeast India until May 7th.

In the west, the state of Gujarat is likely to experience hot and humid weather in isolated pockets over the next five days. Similarly, on May 6th, similar conditions are expected in Jharkhand, followed by Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Karaikal, Coastal Karnataka, and Mahe from May 6th to May 7th.

Looking ahead to the next week, the IMD forecasts fairly widespread to light to moderate rainfall across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

Additionally, Gangetic West Bengal is expected to receive fairly widespread to light to moderate rainfall, with scattered to fairly widespread rainfall anticipated over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Jharkhand, Sikkim, and Odisha from May 6th to May 9th. These regions may also experience thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.

Furthermore, a rise in maximum temperatures by approximately 2°C is forecasted over many parts of Northwest and Central India in the next three days, with no significant change thereafter. Conversely, East India is expected to witness a decrease in maximum temperatures by 4-6°C over the next 24 hours.

Overall, while various parts of India are gearing up for contrasting weather patterns ranging from heatwaves to heavy rainfall, the IMD advises residents and authorities to stay updated with the latest forecasts and take necessary precautions to mitigate any adverse impacts.
