Maharashtra state government has announced the Diwali Bonus 2024 under the Ladki Bahin Yojana. Eligible women beneficiaries will receive a Diwali bonus of Rs. 3,000 directly into their bank accounts. What is Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana?
The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, launched earlier this year, aims to provide financial support to women aged 21 to 65 years across Maharashtra. The scheme was rolled out in August 2024, with an allocated budget of Rs. 46,000 crore for its implementation. Women who meet the eligibility criteria receive Rs. 1,500 monthly through direct benefit transfer (DBT) to their bank accounts.
This monthly assistance aims to not only enhance their financial independence but also improve their health and nutrition, ensuring their crucial role within their families. The recent Diwali bonus of Rs. 3,000 provides a much-needed financial lift for beneficiaries, especially during the festive season.
Who is Eligible under the Ladki Bahin Yojana?
To be eligible for the scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

They must be residents of Maharashtra.

Eligible women include married, widowed, divorced, abandoned, or destitute individuals, as well as only one unmarried woman per family.

Applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 65.

They must have a bank account linked to their Aadhaar card.

The annual income of the beneficiary’s family should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh.
Who is Not Eligible?
Certain women are disqualified from receiving benefits under the scheme if they or their family members meet any of the following conditions:

Combined family income exceeding Rs. 2.5 lakh annually.

A family member is an income tax payer or employed in a permanent position within a government department, undertaking, or board.

The family owns a four-wheeler vehicle (except a tractor).

A family member holds a political office, such as MP, MLA, or board director.
Application Process
The application process is designed to be accessible, with online and offline options available at various centers, including Anganwadi Sevak, Setu Suvidha Kendras, and Your Sarkar Seva Kendras. Women who cannot apply online can receive assistance from supervisors, ward officers, and other designated officials at no charge. Applicants are required to fill in their personal information, including bank details and mobile number, as per their Aadhaar card.
With the added Diwali bonus, women across the state are receiving much-needed support during the festive season, further strengthening the role of women within their families and communities.
